Love the play of shadows and the detail of the sand.

I guess you could call this a Selfie… I’ve always been told that a portrait should have the subjects eyes in focus… Forget that noise. I like this. The 10-20 again here. We were at the park shooting the birds (with our camera’s). I had put my Wide angle on my camera to force myself to change my approach as I had been shooting my 70-300 most of the evening. I liked the long shadows and the wide angle exaggerates the length even more… fun fun stuff.  Not 100%  happy with my pose but it will do.

Here is another from Sweden. I think this was late in the evening (like 2330).  The more I shoot the more I find myself looking for the simple beauty in the world. It’s there; sometimes we just need to remember how to look.  I like the shadows of the stones. Love the subtle green of the moss on the rocks.

You will start to see some stuff from my trip soon.

Day 16 – Pull up Pull Up!

I like the near symmetry of this duck. I like how the ends of the wings are blurred and the body is in focus. For a while there I was out 4-5 times a week often working on bird (or fowl) in flight techniques. This is one of the more successful shots. Yes the eyes aren’t there and it loses some for that but it’s different.

On a personal note I start a few journey’s of sorts today. This evening I fly out to Perth, Australia. I am going to see a girl I love very much. I hope to be able to post some photo’s of her on here in the future (assuming she gives me the go ahead on that).

Another photo I find powerful.. another simple photograph.  Coincidence… I think not.  This is another photo I took last winter. I love the bark of these trees. Love the play of the shadow. Love the texture in the snow.
